Most of us at Kindred HQ have been using dating apps for longer than we'd like to admit, so we know how important online dating safety is. We put this at the heart of what we do and have a zero-tolerance policy for any type of harassment or disrespect towards our spirits.
We know it’s easy to find someone you fancy, but so much harder to find someone you really like and connect with... or sometimes even just a decent human being. The first thing we want to do is make sure you’ve got the best chance of meeting a like-minded person (and decent human), so we're building Kindred as a safe dating app with the vision of bringing together a positive and inclusive community of singles.
By working together, we're able to identify and remove anyone that chooses to be a dickhead. Whether it's questioning lifestyle choices, sending lewd images and comments or ghosting, we'll act swiftly to remove people that behave inappropriately. Be sure to contact us to report or discuss any spirits that make you feel uncomfortable.
Dating Safety
We're designing the app with your safety in mind and including a variety of features to prioritise online dating safety:
Block Profiles - Every profile includes a "block" button to give you direct control of who can and can't interact with you. Once they're blocked, they can't bother you again. ⛔
Report Profiles - There's also a "report" button to let us know about dickheads so we can protect the rest of the community. Every reported issue is reviewed by an actual human, with immediate bans for anyone who breaks our T&Cs.
Human Moderation - All profile photos and text answers are moderated by humans to make sure they meet our high standards. No kids, people in their underwear or offensive comments - we'll deal with all that so you don't have to.
Selfie Verification - We also don't tolerate catfish! Our selfie verification gives everyone a chance to prove they are who they say they are - just upload at least 3 recent pics with your face clearly visible and take a selfie! If we can find you in the pics, you'll get a coveted blue tick on your profile to show other spirits that you're legit. 🤳
Video Calls - Texting is great, but sometimes you want to see and hear your match before you meet in person. We've built an in-app video call feature for this very reason, giving you the peace of mind that you're not meeting a complete stranger. Our text and video call features are set up to make sure you can keep conversations on the app and don't need to share your personal information before you're ready.
